Many companies and organizations conduct premeditated strategies to support their community as a way to promote their businesses. It is difficult to see the heart in these endeavors. Not so with Jay and Lisa Yerkes, Owners of Yerkes Construction based in Chestertown, Maryland. On Saturday May 28th the Chestertown Tea Party Festival Committee honored the Yerkeses with the 2016 Edna Ross Award at this year’s festival. This community award was established in 2011 to honor Ross and all she had done for Chestertown. It has since been given annually to a local business person for outstanding service to the community.
Yerkes believes in using its construction resources to support those in need in the community. Among its many sponsorships is Rebuilding Together Kent County. Rebuilding Together is the nation’s largest volunteer home repair and rehabilitation organization. In Kent County, Maryland.
